  5. Introducing the Current Trustees of the Internet Society
  6.  
  7. After the chartering of the Internet Society late in December
  8. 1991, the three initial trustees, Kenneth King, Juergen Harms
  9. and Robert Kahn unanimously elected an interim Board of
  10. Trustees, shown below. The interim board will be responsible
  11. for initial operation of the Internet Society including 
  12. approval of an interim budget, appointment of officers and
  13. election of an expanded interim Board whose members will serve 
  14. for periods ranging from one to three years. At annual intervals, 
  15. nominations for Board positions will be opened and elections
  16. held to refresh approximately one-third of the Board of Trustees
  17. each year. The first such election by the individual Internet
  18. Society members is anticipated early in 1993, with the elected 
  19. officials taking office in July 1993.

  21. The interim Board will meet face-to-face for the first time
  22. in June, 1992 at the annual INET meeting in held, this year,
  23. in Kobe, Japan.
